Red Cross Donation

The company's 14-month total contribution to the relief agency reaches $300,000

Markham, ON (July 11, 2017) – The Honda Canada Foundation today made a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the BC Fires Appeal for use during relief and recovery efforts in British Columbia, which has been affected by recent devastating wildfires. The monies will help provide immediate relief to those affected such as cots, blankets, family reunification and financial assistance. Beyond meeting immediate needs, the donation may also help with re-entry and provide long-term recovery, resiliency and preparedness. The donation marks the company's third contribution to the relief agency in support of Canadians in need in the past 14 months, totaling $300,000.

"Honda's intention is to support the many individuals and families devastated by the recent wildfires in British Columbia, as supporting Canadians in times of need is a key pillar of the Foundation's mission," said Dave Jamieson, Chairman of the Honda Canada Foundation. "As we have responded to past natural disasters at home, supporting the Canadian Red Cross is an effective way to quickly help those affected. Honda encourages all Canadians to donate to the Canadian Red Cross at this time in order to assist the most vulnerable citizens affected by this severe situation."

The Honda Canada Foundation is committed to giving back to communities across Canada and is involved with several national and local organizations including Earth Rangers, Rick Hansen Foundation, CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish and Make-A-Wish® Canada.
